One of our six buildings, Bradley's House-in memory of Bradley d.Kat was built in 2010. Here is Bradley d. Kat's story.
Bradley was rescued from a farm by a delivery man 'named' Bradley. He said Bradley was wasting away on the farm as he could not hunt, and the person who had the farm expected the cats to all fend for themselves.
Bradley could not fend for himself. He had been seen being dragged by a car and he lost both of his back feet. The delivery man called us and we said to bring the kitty here immediately. Bradley kitty was in rough shape when he arrived-both back feet were gone and gravel was embedded in his stubs. His ears were worn off as well and yet no one noticed he needed medical help and food....except the man "Bradley" who was a hero of the day for kitty Bradley.
Bradley healed from his surgery and was a gentle soul, always watching over other kitties and he loved everyone. In spite of his severe injuries and torture, he became one of the icons of Rustic Hollow-the reason we do what we do every day, year after year.
Bradley d.Katt was our spokespurrson and had a column in our newsletters back then and was known and loved by many. After his death in 2009, it seemed only fitting to name our newest building in his memory. There are photos on our memory wall in Bradley's House of Bradley d.Katt.
In his memory- The Bradley d. Katt Memorial Emergency Veterinary Fund was established. The fund helps other cats who come to us in dire need of surgery and special medical attention.
Bradley d.Katt was a 'legend' at Rustic Hollow, our spokespurrson, and friend. Make a donation to his Memorial Care Fund and help us continue to keep his memory alive and always in our hearts, through helping other special kitties survive ordeals like Bradley suffered.
