Bradley’s Tail
Hi! Bradley here! I am the spokeskitty for C & W Rustic Hollow Shelter and boy, do I have a ‘tail’ for you!
I am just a young boy and I am proud to say that I am at a really nice place now…they call it C & W Shelter… I think I understand the ’shelter’ part, as I really, really, REALLY needed HELP! I was thrown from and dragged by a car. I don’t remember much after that, but I must have laid a long time before I could get up….but my back feet were gone and it was sooo hard for me to walk. But I made it to a nearby farm and there were other cats but they all just ‘moused’…I begged and begged for food and rubbed the lady’s ankles and meowed sooo much but the lady said she didn’t ‘feed cats’, they had to ‘mouse.’ I couldn’t do that because I couldn’t walk on my back stumps very well.
There were bones sticking out of my stumps and they were so full of dirt and rocks and they hurt soooooo much. But I meowed, and, was oh, so friendly, and one day, a miracle happened…someone noticed me. A man named Bradley, a Schwan’s man they say, noticed ME, and inquired about me. ME! Imagine that! Someone cared enough to ASK about me! He must have talked to someone else, who talked to these nice people at C & W Shelter, because I was whisked away and got my first good meal in a loooooooonnnnnggg time.
The nice man said I was ‘wasting away’ on that farm. The neat thing was HIS name is Bradley too and that is what they called me when I got to C & W. How nice of him to help me and for me to have his name too!!!!! That is really pretty cool. He was my saviour. Then I went on a long car ride with Wanda and Carmen to a place where there were lots of special kitties and a nice lady named Dr. Jenni who I don’t remember much about because I slept a lot there. When I woke up I just wanted to go “HOME” to the nice place I had just gotten settled into. And, you won’t believe what clunky big things were on my back legs. I’d sit up like a big boy and would just topple over! But I learned to walk on those big bandages and I got to go back home really soon.
I was sooo happy to be home again. I rubbed on the carpet, the chairs, the people and the carpet is sooo easy for me to get around on. The nice lady who takes care of us in Apollo’s House put carpet runners down so I could get from room to room. How nice.
And That’s how I got to be the new ’spokeskitty’ for C & W. I’ll be popping up here and there in the website and in the newsletter to share all the news and ‘Shelter Happenings’ in the Sanctuary “Happy Tails” newsletter as well in the printed version that my people send out several times a year. I love my new home, I love the people, AND all the visitors, and I even get MAIL from people!!!! I am sooo proud. Remember me my name is Bradley…and they say I’m a REAL survivor!
Did I mention kitty treats????
And more treats, please….Thanks,
Bradley!
The Bradley d. Katt Memorial Care Emergency Veterinary Fund
In Memory of Bradley d. Katt, who died quietly under anesthesia, May 2009, we are establishing the Bradley d. Katt Memorial Care Emergency Veterinary Fund, for felines, like Bradley, who came to us in dire need of a great deal of medical attention. Through Bradley’s Memorial Fund, many special needs animals can be helped. Bradley was a ‘legend’ at C & W, our spokespurrson, and friend. Make a donation to his Memorial Care Fund and help us continue to keep his memory alive through helping other special kitties survive ordeals like Bradley suffered.
