Support a Furpal – Comet

open house comet 002
Comet was found by the Comet Football Field in a nearby city. When he was taken to the humane society he tested positive for FIV and was sitting quietly in his cage one day when I went there with a friend who was adopting a kitty. I saw the sign on his cage that read FIV kitty and I opened it up and Comet threw his paws around my neck and gave me a big hug…….AND, YOU KNOW THE REST OF THE STORY..  He will give you a hug if you visit, too.

Sponsor a Furpal – Paullie

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

PaulliePaullie came to us as a young kitten. I was riding home with a  person who was delivering a lot of scratching posts for the kitties. We were about a half mile from our home, and, in the middle of the road…..stood Paullie. All kitten but tall and proud. He ran to the side of the road and we were aways up the road when we stopped. It was a very cold wintery day and when I called ‘kitty’, he looked up and ran as fast and hard as he could up the middle of the road while I prayed no one would come around the curve at that moment.  They didn’t, he leapt into my arms and that was that. His feet were frost bitten and he had coccidious…but in time, he healed and became strong and well and he found his ‘forever home’ with us.

Sponsor a Furpal – Chaz

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

Chaz came from a farm one late fall as the people didn’t want him to be cold. He was born wild and is still a bit so. He would have gone back to the farm in the spring except the people mentioned how their dog like to chase and kill cats and kittens, sooooo he STAYED! That was that. You may pet him, but not too long. He adores the other felines and those are his best buddies.

Sponsor a Furpal – Babette

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

‘Babette’s the name, what ya gonna do about it!’ Our Babette was rescued from a pet store when she was abandoned on their doorstep and was found to be definitely not adoptable as she is a biter and can be aggressive. You have to know Babette cause she can be as sweet as can be to those of us who have gotten to know her.

Sam’s Dream

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

Artist – Corwin Dunlap, Nashua, Iowa

We have numbered/limited edition prints, signed by the artist, of this original oil painting by Nashua artist and teacher Corwin Dunlap who has donated the prints with all the proceeds going to C &  W Rustic Hollow Shelter

Here is what Mr. Dunlap says:

“When my wife Maggie’s mother passed away, my wife and I were left with her special needs and ailing cat Sam. Sam needed periodic and expensive monthly procedures and treatments to keep him going. The ladies at C  & W agreed to give Sam a new home.

It seemed like no time at all and Sam was nursed back to health, free from his previous ills, and enjoying his new home and many new feline friends. The ladies seem to be miracle workers. The C & W sanctuary at Nashua provides a home for hundreds of homeless, neglected
and special needs cats.

Carmen Conklin and Wanda Orric are the kind ladies in charge and many, many cats owe their very lives to these wonderful women. Inspired by the work the ladies do with all the variety of cats at the shelter, I decided to produce an oil painting of Sam to help remember him and all his new friends.

This is the first painting I have reproduced as a limited edition print. I am donating these prints for sale to the C &W sanctuary and hope that any funds collected will help keep the sanctuary going.”

We are asking for a donation of $35 or more for one of these special limited edition prints. The prints may be framed (14×28) and would make wonderful presents as well as a keepsake for yourself.

‘With each print you purchase, you will know you are helping many more special needs furballs who might not have had a ‘chance at a lifetime’ if they had not come to live at C  & W.

The $35 per print donation includes postage and mailing.

Please order your prints today, as there are a limited number for sale.

The limited edition prints are signed by the artist and are numbered.

Please help us raise money for the care of the felines!!

It would be purrfectly appreciated.
