WE ARE CURRENTLY NOT HOSTING ANY SPAY NEUTER CLINICS SINCE 2020 AND COVID We now refer people to other Iowa low cost programs or veterinarians who offer lower prices in our area. StOPP(STop Overpopulation Prevention Program)
Rustic Hollow Shelter hosts on site low cost spay/neuter clinics. The clinics are held monthly in summer months and through our participating veterinarians during winter months. Our sanctuary veterinarian comes two to three times a month and gives medical care to our sanctuary cats as well.
The clinics are staffed by volunteers: from the prep team to the surgery team to other volunteers who some just to 'sit under the kitties' keeping them warm after their surgery. We have a wonderful group of volunteers that work long hours on our clinic days. we always are looking for Kitty Kuddlers to help hold the furs after their surgeries.

Carmen Linda Conklin holds a Master's Degree in Music Education and taught music to all levels for some years, and published a weekly local newspaper for 19 years along with running the special needs sanctuary, Rustic Hollow Shelter since 1985.
