Meet The Team

Executive Director
Keisha Stough
Keisha began her journey with Rustic Hollow at the age of 15. After graduating, she advanced her career in the animal field, training with various veterinarians and serving as a medical technician at a nearby humane society. In 2008, she became the lead Med Tech and promoted to Staff Supervisor in 2018. Alongside her work at Rustic Hollow, she spent several years part-time as a receptionist at a local tattoo studio. As of 2021, Keisha is the Executive Director of Rustic Hollow Shelter, overseeing staff, payroll, inventory, newsletter publications, and much more. She has also been the President of our Board of Directors since 2019. In 2025, she will celebrate 17 years with the sanctuary. Keisha has had many beloved felines over the years, including Soup, Cosmo, Sachi, Marius, Dunkin (RIP), Gma, and Baby Lisa. She enjoys live music with her partner Josh and his band Grave Corps, tattoo 'therapy' sessions, nature hikes, exploring spooky places, and traveling (New Orleans being a favorite!). At home, she has three rescue cats: Ollie, Dax, and Tonka, with Ollie being her bottle baby rescue who now weighs 20 pounds and is over 10 years old!

Vet Technician
Kaitlyn Hauser
Kaitlyn is a fantastic asset to our Med Team, serving as our on-site shelter certified veterinary technician (CVT). She brings extensive knowledge, skills, and compassion for all animals, and has been an active member of our community for many years, consistently helping animals in need. Additionally, she is involved with multiple rescues, including Hero's Haven, which collaborates with our shelter to find homes for many felines in the area. In her spare time, this busy gal enjoys reading or listening to audiobooks and supporting her family's local dairy farm. We are truly grateful to have her on our team.

Caregiver
JoAnna Byers (DoDo)
Dodo is one of our animal caregivers and has been part of Rustic Hollow for the past few years! She adores the cats and has many favorite felines across the shelter. Despite juggling a second full-time job, we're grateful that she dedicates her weekends to caring for all the Rustic Hollow cats. At home, Dodo has an American Bully named JJ-Girl and enjoys reading and listening to true crime podcasts!

Caregiver
Des Hahn
Des started Rustic Hollow in the Spring of 2023 and loves getting to know the unique personalities of our residents. Cat cuddles are a delightful perk, and she has a soft spot for several kitties, including Potato, Mabel, and Miss Cricket. Outside of work, Des has a variety of interests such as painting, creating art, horror films, theatre, baking, photography, and tattoos. During the fall, she takes on the role of a 'scare actor' at The Heart Of Darkness, a local haunted attraction for Halloween. Plus, she can create balloon animals...even in the dark! In August 2023, Des painted the 'second chance at a lifetime' mural in the upstairs of Bradley's Building, so be sure to check it out if you visit! At home, she has two cats: Gibbous (Gibby), a rescue, and June Bug (Bug), who has a knack for munching on bugs!

Caregiver
Chad Rich
Chad began his journey at C&W in 2006. He recalls, "I found the job in a newspaper during the summer and decided to stop by to inquire about it. I was just 12 when I started, tasked with sifting litter in all the buildings and transporting fresh litter. I still do that today, along with various maintenance duties. They refer to me as the 'Weekend Warrior' at C&W shelter since I only work on weekends due to my weekday job. I truly enjoy my time at C&W; everyone is friendly, and most of the cats love the attention. I'm happy to still be part of their team." In the photo above, he is with his 2-year-old daughter, Ellie.

Caregiver
Tera Schroeder
Tera is shown with her wonderful family. As a new member of our shelter team, we are grateful for her commitment to maintaining a clean and organized environment for our special needs cats. Tera works twice a week in Bradley's Building and excels at managing one of our busiest facilities on-site, which is no easy task! We are truly grateful for her attention to detail and positive attitude. She is always more than willing to offer a helping hand.

Caregiver
Madison Jentz
Madison is a newlywed! (shown with her husband Dustin) She has recently joined our shelter caregiver team and has a passion for all animals, along with several pets of her own. Currently, she works in our Kitty Kabin (our remodeled cat barn) and is adapting wonderfully. In her free time, she enjoys watching Gilmore Girls, collecting pig-themed items, and celebrating Halloween, her favorite holiday!

Caregiver
Bailey Watson
Meet Bailey, another newer member of our caregiver team, who hails from Douglasville, GA. He relocated to be closer to family and is eager to lend a hand, especially with his uncle's food truck the warmer months! In his free time, Bailey enjoys gaming, coloring by number, and collecting Superman and Marvel memorabilia. Pictured here with 'Bubbles,' one of his favorite residents at Sandy's Kitty Haven, Bailey also steps up on weekends when we need extra with litter scooping. We truly appreciate his dedication to our caregiving efforts

Caregiver
Halie Pendergraft
Halie became a part of our caregiver team in February 2025. She quickly connected with the cats she looks after and demonstrates excellent cleaning skills, making her a valuable asset, especially with comfort around various animals. In her free time, Halie loves thrifting and showing cows. Although she visits the shelter just once a week due to her primary role as a Nanny, she has already established herself as a reliable and friendly presence. Welcome aboard, Halie!

Caregiver
Curtis Vais
Curtis is seen here with his partner, Kim. He joined our caregiver team in April 2025 and quickly bonded with the cats, thanks to his upbringing on a farm which made him comfortable around all animals. Curtis excels in cleaning, particularly mopping! Like our entire staff, he has a natural affinity for various animals. He works part-time as a daily caregiver at the shelter while also having spent 20 years as a college track and cross country coach, leading his teams to two National Championships. Since retiring a few years ago, he has been involved in property management for multiple rentals in Charles City. We are grateful to have him on our team too!

Caregiver
Micah Showers
Micah has returned as a caregiver! She shares a profound affection for animals, much like rest of our caregiving team. In the photo, she’s pictured with her kitty and her partner, Wiley, who is also a committed volunteer at the shelter! Micah dedicates two days a week at the sanctuary and genuinely enjoys her time with all the cats throughout the shelter. Welcome back, Micah! We’re thrilled to have you back on the caregiver team!
